MSCC Speed Championship - Aintree 2006

The Morgan Sports Car Club's Speed Championship sprint at Aintree was held on 24th June 2006. The Morgans were running in Class 10 of this event, organised by the Liverpool Motor Club. The day started with a few light showers making the track quite slippery for the first practice run. It stayed warm and the rain held off for the rest of the event.

[ Scruitineering]
Competitors sign-on on arrival and then the cars are scruitineered (sticker). The noise testing is done on the way to the first practice run.

[ Walk ]
Competitors have the opportunity to walk the course before the drivers briefing.

[ Paddock ]
The Morgans are prepared in the paddock area. Timing struts and numbers are fitted, spare wheels and contents of the cars are unloaded.

[ Called up ]
The next group make their way to the circuit, when called up.

[ Start ]
The start line marshals position the cars on the timing beam. The light changes to green and the competitor is off.

[ Times ]
Competitors review their times.

The event was very well organised and competitors had two practice and four timed runs, although only the first three were taken into account for the Championship.
